The St. Elmo is a victorian style condominium complex which contains Chautauqua's finest accommodations, shops, restaurant and DAY SPA. It is located in the center of Chautauqua Institution on Bestor Plaza. From the St. Elmo guests are just steps away from the Ampitheater, The Opera house, Shopping, Restaurants, The Bookstore, Chautauqua Lake, Chautauqua's 36 hole golf course and all the attractions which are Chautauqua. The St. Elmo was built in 1988 to replace the old St. Elmo Hotel which had fallen into disrepair. It looks as though it has stood on the spot for a hundred years, thus fitting in beautifully with many of the charming homes and buildings at Chautauqua which were built in the late 1800's and early 1900's.

Within the St. Elmo are efficiency suites, (one room plus kitchen and bath), one bedroom and two bedroom suites all have well equipped kitchens. All are tastefully decorated, some in Victorian decor, others more contemporary. Amenities include TV & DVDs, free movies, oversized towels, balconies. WiFi.
During the Chautauqua Summer Sessions, units are rented with a minimum of a week's stay.
Out of Season prices are by the night and vary by season. The St. Elmo is available for meetings, conferences, retreats, Sept. through June.
